This seminar will introduce the audience to the shotcrete process for placing concrete in a wide variety of structural and geotechnical applications. Shotcrete is a time-proven method to quickly and cost-effectively place concrete with a minimum of formwork. Shotcrete inherently provides enhanced sustainability benefits and allows the designer maximum flexibility in shape and thickness of their concrete sections.

This is a past event. Do not book a ticket unless you have been specifically instructed to do so by the event organiser.

Over the last 60 years a variety of ACI committees have included shotcrete in their codes, specifications and reports.  But shotcrete has not been directly addressed in the mainstream ACI 318 Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete or ACI 301 Specifications for Structural Concrete. That will soon change as after years of work the next revision of ACI 318 due to be published this Spring will directly include shotcrete as a placement method for structural concrete. ACI 301 also will directly address shotcrete in their next revision. In addition to the topics listed above, this presentation will include a preview of the upcoming provisions in ACI 318-19.

Date: Wednesday, April 24
